The company said it would provide state-of-the-art flotation technology to a large nickel producer in Western Australia as part of a modernisation of its dressing plant.

The new flotation cell is scheduled to enter service in 2022. In a presentation at the recent Australian Explorer and Trader Conference 2021, Eddy Haegel, president of BHP Nickel Western Assets, said the technology is being deployed at its Mount Keith nickel mine, which is expanding its ore processing capacity from 10.5 to 12 mmtpa. It will eventually be expanded to 15 million tons per year.
